Mutai Finishes 2nd at Sun Belt ChampionshipsPublished by
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Senior Warhawk Daniel Mutai notched a second place finish at the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Saturday, the highest individual finish ever by a ULM runner in Sun Belt history. Mutai and sophomore Silah Chumba (11th overall) led an ULM team struggling with nagging injuries to an 8th place team finish (183 total points). The Warhawk women finished 12th as a team with 289 points, and were led by senior Sharon Sason (32nd overall). UALR won the men's team title with a 58 point showing, while Georgia State took home the women's team championship in the school's first season in the Sun Belt by virtue of their conference low 52 points.
